"Oh, Spring! I want to go out and feel you and get inspiration. My old
things seem dead. I want fresh contacts, more vital searching."
Emily Carr
Just when I thought winter had done its dash, these last 2 days have proved me wrong! Still got the old winter woolies wrapped around my goose-bumpy flesh! Maybe I'm just a wimp! Can't be long before Spring shows its true glorious colours. Of course it has begun: LOVE those cherry blossoms! New beginnings. New Life. Bring it on!

Aren't some of God's furry creatures just gorgeous?
I have recently completed a commission by a fan of felines of 4 lovely cats taking charge of a large stately tree!Check out the image on Facebook: love it! "Thousand of years ago cats were worshipped as gods. They have never forgotten this." Anatole France So my lovelies, it's coming up to Mother's Day.
For some people it's not a pleasant prospect on varying levels, for others its a pleasant thing. We each have difierent histories when it comes to our Mums. Just do your best! Here's a couple of quotes to bring a touch of levity to this somewhat commercialised event. "I want my children to have all the things I couldn't afford. Then I want to move in with them" Phyllis Diller. "If evolution really works, how come mothers only have two hands?" Milton Berle So what are your thoughts on the Mother's Day event? Another stunning day in the Hawkes Bay.
Had breakfast with my lovely man sitting outside basking in that early morning warmth, watching the sun-diamonds dance madly on the slate blue oceanic dance floor symetrically ribboned in white. Mist swirled languidly along the surface adding sensuality to this glorious mystical dance. I wish it could be captured on film, but it simply has to be experienced! I never tire of this magical sight. Here's an interesting quote: "History shows us that the people who end up changing the world – the great political, social, scientific, technological, artistic, even sports revolutionaries – are always nuts, until they are right, and then they are geniuses.” – John Eliot hmmmm! Thoughts? Easter is fast approaching. Such an earth-shattering event. A cataclysmic shift in the entire universe centred around 3 days at Golgotha's bloodied hill.
"Oh Aslan! You're real! You're real! What does it mean?" "It means that though the witch knew the Deep Magic, there is a magic deeper still. If she could have looked a little further back into the stillness & darkness before Time, she would have known that when willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards." (The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe) Ju Another crisp, grey early Autumn day and I find myself mourning the loss of an indifferent summer.
Ah well: every season has it's positive elements and Autumn in full sun is one of them. Sooo looking forward to experincing that! Here's a quote by George Elliot "Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. " So what's your thoughts about this strange season where dying in vivid firey shades and inevitable decay provides an embryo for Spring? Mid Feruary coming up at the speed of light (proof I'm getting older!) and there's still time to do the summery stuff.
To my shame I haven't been for one swim yet! I know!! Actually I'm quite contect to sea-gaze for now. I love the constant movement, moods, uncertainty, the ebb & flow & intercolour changes of this horizonless ocean that occurs on a daily basis just outside my door. May I never take it for granted. Lterally and figuratively. "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14 |
